Photo Gifts

Modern technology allows a person to go online and create a personalized gift without ever needing to leave the comforts of home. Websites such as Personalization Mall offers gifts such as a neat photo tie. Upload a photo of his child or grandchild and have the photo printed onto the tie. A rather mundane, ordinary, common gift becomes a treasure piece of attire that he will wear with pride and treasure forever. Personalization Mall and other websites also offer items such as mouse pads, coffee mugs, water bottles, and even cookie jars.

Children's Crafts

Get the kids to make dad a homemade gift. Have them decorate a durable plastic box for dad's favorite outdoor equipment such as sports gear or gardening tools. They can decorate a plastic pail and fill it with sponges, detergents, and other items suitable for car care so that an ordinary pail becomes his treasured "car wash caddy". If he travels a lot, the kids can use foam or felt and craft glue to create luggage tags. These tags would not replace his usual secure luggage tags, but they can add a bit of decor to dad's travel bags and when he sees them, he will think of his children whenever he is away. Cut a piece of cardstock into a wallet sized rectangle. Instruct the children to paste on tiny photos of themselves, stickers, or magazine cutouts for dad to keep in his wallet. Each child can create his own card and decorate it with anything that represents themselves so that dad can be reminded of each child whenever he opens his wallet.

Electronics

Give him the gift of modern technology for Father's Day. My husband loves his Kindle. You can store an unimaginable number of books on the Kindle. They are also popular for their long battery life. The screens look very much like the pages of an actual book. The Kindle is easy to read which is easy on the reader's eyes. If he is reading several books at one time, he can store them all on his Kindle and have them all with him whenever he needs them on one small portable device. Modern dads also enjoy iPods and video games as much as teenage boys. Gift him the gift of "play" for Father's Day with an electronic gift that suits his taste.

Sports Tickets

For the dad who is a competitive sports fan, give him tickets to his favorite sporting event. Whether it is a local ball team or professional team, he will enjoy the event even more if he doesn't have to pay for it. If the tickets are not too expensive, give him enough to take a friend or his entire family. Enhance his experience with a cool sports chair that will fit onto the stadium seats and support all his needs such as his favorite beverage and snacks. He will forever remember his perfect Father's Day at the game with his great sports seat and all the goodies while spending the day with his favorite people.
