Wow, time really does fly and Labor Day is fast approaching. The upcoming holiday is set aside to honor America's hard working community. Most people celebrate Labor Day by planning pic-nics and backyard barbecues to be celebrated with friends and family or, in most cases I assume, a combination of both. However an American citizen chooses to celebrate the special day, you can be sure to see a variety of patriotic decorations adorning homes, gardens, mailboxes, pic-nic areas, street signs and lamp posts - the list goes on and on. I visited our local Walmart store the other day with the purpose of purchasing needed school supplies for my three children and, not being a "crowd person" found myself quiet frustrated by having to maneuver a large buggy through the crowed isles. I finally resorted to parking the buggy in a central location and, being the loving mother that I am, sent my children into the "mob" to retrieve their needs.

As labor day approaches, I began to think about needed decorations to celebrate the event. I have a fairly new flag that proudly flies from my front porch, but what about the banner for the railings? the paper plates? cups? napkins? I would like red, white, and blue utensils too and perhaps a table cloth to match, but to go back into the Walmart "mob" to purchase them is not seeming very appealing to me at this moment. Being in my EARLY 40s, the Internet phenomena is something that was not easy for me to get used to. Having three teenagers in the house has helped. Now I use the computer and Internet for many things such as submitting articles to websites to supplement my income, and yes - shopping. Shopping the Internet for supplies allows me to spend a lot more time at home and a lot less time battling crowds. Plus, it all comes straight to my door!
