Personalized Story Books

Children enjoy books, but they enjoy them more when they are the main characters. Personalized story books are a great way to encourage children to read more. Parents, grand-parents, aunts, and uncles can order books which include a special child's special name. Personalized story book publishers can add a child's name into a story with which the child is already familiar.

My son always enjoyed the story "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer." A few years ago, my parents ordered him a Personalized Story Book. My son's name was added into the story. The book he received was titled "My Adventure With Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer."

When my son opened the book, he read a message from his Granny and Papa published on the title page. The story is a variation of the classic written by Sally Snyder and illustrated by Michael Bayouth. The first two pages read as follows:

All the stars were twinkling brightly in the dark blue sky. Boys and girls everywhere were snug in their beds, dreaming about candy canes and gingerbread, toys and packages with bright red ribbons. It was almost Christmas, and Santa Claus would soon be visiting. Andrew Truelove was sound asleep. Suddenly he heard something strange. Right there in the room was a little reindeer with a shiny red nose. "Don't be afraid," said the reindeer. "It's I Rudolph. Santa said your birthday is February 21 , which means you are just the boy to help me."

The story included my son's name and birthday within the first two pages. That made him feel special and personally recognized by Santa and the story was just beginning. Later on in the story, my son's friend, Ana, and his cat, Smokey, also played a part in the story. His address was also mentioned in the story. My son felt very special.

My son received the book as a Christmas gift from his grandparents. He is almost 19 years old and we still have the book. That is how much the book meant to him.

Personalized Story Books make great gifts for other occasions as well. You can give a very special child a Personalized Story Book in honor of his or her birthday, baptism, or "just because."

My son's book was ordered a long time ago, long before websites were included on labels, but I managed to find a few companies online who provide very similar services.

What a clever idea, especially if you live far away from family, which makes getting together for holidays problematic:) Thanks for sharing, I voted this up.

Yes, DonnaCosmato, is would be great for far away families. Shipping would be pretty reasonable for a gift book too. Thank you for reading and commenting and thank you for voting this hub up! :)
