Wall Quotes: Removable Vinyl Wall Decorations

At the end of each school year, I receive some pretty unique gifts from students.  This past Spring was no different.  You know how it feels when you look in a magazine and notice beautiful wall murals or painted lettering?  Then, you think, “I wish I could do that”.  Well, now there is a way to add lettering to your walls without the mess and time-consuming frustration of having to paint each letter perfectly. 

One of my sweet little ones gave me the gift of a “Wall Quote.”  Wall Quotes come in a cylinder shaped container.  Inside the cylinder is a sheet of paper (sometimes two sheets depending on the quote) with vinyl lettering stuck to one side. 

General instructions include the following:

1. Tape the top edge of the paper to the wall in the desired location.  (Be sure the wall is clean and dry – free from grease or oils often found in busy kitchens).
2. Lift and remove the backing and return to the desired location on your wall.  Rub the letters onto the wall with the enclosed applicator.
3. Pull away the protective top paper.
4. Enjoy your new look.  If you want to remove the letters, heat with a blow dryer and peel the vinyl from the wall.

You will find more detailed directions inside the cylinder container, but Wall quotes are very simple to apply.  It may take a bit longer than indicated in the directions.   You will need to rub hard, very hard for several minutes in order to apply the lettering.  Be very careful as you pull the paper away.  I pulled the paper away too quickly a couple of times only to return the vinyl to the wall for more intense rubbing.  The letters tend to wrinkle up a little if they are not completely applied to the wall.  It was a little frustrating for me because it took a lot more rubbing, harder rubbing, which meant a bit more time put into the application than I had expected.  However, once the project was complete, I was very satisfied with the results. 

The lettering on my wall does look painted on.  Everyone who enters my kitchen notices the quote and how nice it looks on the wall.  The best part is that Wall Quotes are very inexpensive and if I decide to repaint my kitchen, they remove easily.
